After you receive a quote for you custom flag or banner you will be asked to submit any artwork or graphics you might have for your project. This is an area or great confusion for most people who don’t have any experience with custom printing of any kind. Never fear, the graphics department at Flags International® is here to give you a few pointers to get you ahead of the game!
The simplest way to explain graphics in the digital age is that there are two different file types that can be submitted; Raster and Vector.

Raster
- Defined by numbers to create a grid of pixels of varying color
- Large file sizes for print quality images
- Must be 300 dpi for good quality print
- Longer printing time period
- Pixelization may occur
- Common File Formats
- .jpeg
- .gif
- .psd
- .bmp
- .tiff
- .pdf*
Vector
- Defined by mathematical equations to form shapes of colors and other effects
- Small file sizes
- Standard printing time period
- Standard for printing in large format
- Print at any size with no pixelization
- Common File Formats
*This format can hold both Raster and Vector artwork.
